Now in its 13th year, the Toronto Marathon is the city's largest and longest running marathon. More than just a run for fun, the marathon has succeeded in generating more than $15 million for local charitable causes. The course, which begins in Mel Lastman Square in the heart of the Toronto, loops around the city, and ends at Queen's Park.
For all levels of participants, the Toronto Marathon offers a half marathon, 5K race, and relay, in addition to the full marathon. With "Entertainment Stations" featuring everything from rock bands to bagpipers, and DJs to cheerleaders, this festive annual event attracts 10,000 participants from over 30 countries.
