ABOUT TORONTO
Organized by the Toronto Vegetarian Association, this food fair is a celebration of all things vegetarian. Now in its twentieth year, the three-day festival attracts upwards of 15,000 visitors each year, and includes a variety of demonstrations, lectures, services, and nutritional information. People choose a vegetarian lifestyle for a variety of reasons, such as health, religion, animal advocacy, and environmental impact, and the speakers and businesses, well over 100 of them, reflect this diversity in the products and services they sell and represent.
Lecture topics and guest speakers change every year, but attendees can expect to find such program features as cooking demonstrations and information about animal rights, nutrition , health, wealth, and physical fitness, and how to live an overall "greener" lifestyle. Topics now include such things as raw food diets and gluten-free diets, the regional cooking methods of different cultures, as well as the role of all of the above in North American and Ayurvedic medicine.
