PIONEER FESTIVAL

Pioneer Festival - Toronto Hotels .com

Pioneer Festival

Now in its 51st year, this popular festival celebrates the past by transporting you and your family back to nineteenth-century Canada. In the recreated Black Creek Pioneer Village, you can experience daily life as it was lived in the 1880s.

Stop by the living museum where historic interpreters will expertly answer your questions. Visit the blacksmith and discover the lost art of a traditional print shop. Have a slice of gingerbread cake at the general store's on-site restaurant, then shop for bargains at one of the various booths scattered around this Mennonite and Pennyslvania-German influenced festival. Crafts, especially quilts on sale and the quilt auction at noon, are major highlights, as is the food deliciously prepared with simple and fresh ingredients.
