ABOUT TORONTO
Since 1980, the International Festival of Authors (IFOA) has been bringing together the best contemporary writers in the world. Each year, the IFOA offers readings, interviews, lectures, and round table discussions in addition to author book signings. Special events include readings by finalists for prizes sponsored by the IFOA, including the prestigious Harbourfront Festival Prize.
This 11-day festival draws a throng of people who come not just to hear well-known writers of literary fiction such as Margaret Atwood (featured at the 2007 festival), but also the mass market storytellers and the authors of autobiography and nonfiction. With nearly 100 writers included, just about everybody will find the right style and subject matter.
