Toronto's three-day Anime North festival is a nonprofit, fan-organized convention that celebrates Japanese and Japanese-style anime, manga, cosplay (costume/role-play), and video games. For those wanting to buy or sell books, games, videos, fanzines, and collectibles related to the world of anime, Anime North offers the extensive Dealers' Room, the flea-market style Nominoichi for fan-to-fan trade, and the Artists' Alley where artists can display and sell their 2-D and 3-D manga work. For cosplay enthusiasts, Anime North hosts contests, dances, and a grand Masquerade. Other events include video and RPG demonstrations, panel discussions, a manga writing contest, and a kimono exhibit.

The convention takes place near Toronto's Pearson International Airport, 27 kilometers or 17 miles (about 20 minutes) west of Downtown Toronto, at venues including the Doubletree International Plaza Hotel and the Toronto Congress Center.
