Celebrate Toronto Street Festival

Explore the wonders of the world's longest street, Toronto's Yonge Street, during the annual Celebrate Toronto Street Festival in July. Free entertainment, crowd-pleasing sidewalk sales, and delicious food are what's on the menu at this fun weekend festival, which attracts an estimated one million residents and visitors each year.

As recently as 1998, The Guinness Book of World Records called Yonge Street, at more than 1,896 kilometers (1,178.12 miles) in length, the longest road in the world. (Yonge Street was considered an extension of Highway 11, which went through central Ontario.) Due to changes to highway and street designations, the street lost that claim, but the street winds through the heart of great attractions such Dundas Square, and beneath it runs the Yonge Line, the first trunk of the Toronto Subway system.
