ATTRACTIONS
In a city as culturally rich and diverse as Toronto, it is no surprise to find the Royal Ontario Museum (the ROM), the largest museum in all of Canada. Located just east of the University of Toronto, the ROM is a treasure trove of galleries and artifacts, with over six million items in its collection. Visitors could conceivably spend days exploring the museum's gigantic exhibits on world culture and natural history.
Though it was first opened in 1933, the museum is still fresh and modern. It recently underwent a major expansion centered around the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal wing, an architectural wonder designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind and named after Canada's well-known billionaire philanthropist. With features ranging from dinosaurs to ancient culture, the ROM has something for everyone.
The ROM is open from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., except on Friday, when it is open until 9:30 p.m.
