Music

It is no surprise that Toronto, a diverse and cultured metropolis, is home to six opera companies and two symphony orchestras. The Canadian Opera Company makes its home at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, along with the National Ballet of Canada.

Roy Thomson Hall, which was used for scenes in the movie X-Men, hosts the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. More than 400,000 classical music lovers attend the TSO each year. The choir, which has toured and recorded extensively, was conducted under the direction of John Williams for the Schindler's List soundtrack.

Now in their twenty-seventh season, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra performs over 50 concerts each season at the Trinity-St. Paul's Centre in Toronto.
