As home to both Toronto Dance Theatre and Canadian Children's Dance Theatre, Toronto proudly takes its place as a world leader in modern and contemporary dance. Offering innovative, multimedia dance works throughout the year, the nearly 40-year-old Toronto Dance Theatre troupe performs regularly at its own Winchester Theatre in Toronto's district, at the HarbourFront Centre, and in festivals and tours around the world.

The Canadian Children's Dance Theatre is a contemporary dance company and school based in the 509 Dance facility in Toronto's district. CCDT's resident dance company, TILT sound+motion, features dancers between the ages of 13 and 19 in cutting-edge, multimedia performances. TILT sound+motion performs at 509 Dance, the HarbourFront Center, and in a variety of other local theaters.
