Midtown - Toronto Hotels .com
Close to the center of the city is the University of Toronto (UT), Canada's largest educational institution. UT's central location puts it within easy reach of many of Toronto's downtown neighborhoods, including Chinatown, Kensington Market, Little Italy, and The Village, but the immediate area offers a lot of interesting shopping and sightseeing as well. Take a walking tour of the lovely, historic campus, and visit one of the art
museums to experience homegrown and international talent alike. Such institutions include the UT Art Centre or the Eric Arthur Gallery, both of which lie to the north of campus. The nearby Annex neighborhood, populated mostly by students and other university affiliates, is overlooked by the famous Casa Loma, an immense, medieval-style castle that is a tourist attraction unto itself. Climb up to the castle for spectacular views of the city and to tour its spectacular 98 rooms.
If high style and glamorous shopping are what you're looking for, then Yorkville is the place to be. Once the hippie capital of Toronto, this newly gentrified neighborhood, just east of The Annex, is now home to rows of well-known high-end shops, chic boutiques, and sophisticated restaurants.
